Leaders of Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Abia North Senatorial district have stormed the Action Peoples Party (APP) governorship campaign office in Umuahia the state capital where they pledged total support for APP governorship candidate, Hon. Mascot Uzor-Kalu.
They said this is in compliance to Abia Charter of Equity and power rotation in the state.
The SDP leaders assured they will secure victory for Mascot Uzor-Kalu at their various wards in the March 11 governorship election in Abia.
The Abia North zonal chairman of SDP, Ejimnkoye Levi who led other party stalwarts insists that it is the turn of Abia North to produce the next governor of the state.
He said, “As the zonal chairman of SDP we are here to declare support to the incoming Governor Mascot to become our Governor, reasons being that he is from Abia North and based on the Abia Charter of Equity, it’s Abia North turn to produce the next Governor.
“The powers that be don’t want to maintain the Charter of Equity in the State, but we as SDP members who know the purpose of SDP which is justice and fairness are supporting him to make sure that equity is maintained.”
In response to their Visit Hon. Mascot appreciated the SDP leaders, saying he is the right candidate to deliver the mandate of Abians as it’s the turn of Abia North to produce the next governor.
He assured them of his undying resolve in making sure he never disappoints in fulfilling all that he has set out to do for the good people of the state.
He said with his wealth of experience as former Chief of Staff to the Government he knows the deep plights of Abians and will ensure that the state will be restored from its backwardness.
He encouraged them not to relent in making sure that the desired victory is achieved. .
