Al Hilal’s new signing Neymar has said he believes the Saudi Arabia league might be better than the French Ligue 1.
Neymar didn’t enjoy the best of times in France with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian star spent six seasons at PSG but struggled with injuries in the majority of those seasons.
Despite winning lots of domestic titles it was not enough for the diehard PSG ultras.
When asked how the quality differs between Ligue 1 and the Saudi Pro League, during a press conference on Thursday with the Brazil national team, Neymar said: ”I guarantee you the football is the same. The ball is round, there are goals. And with all the names in the Saudi League today, it might be better than the French league.
“I want to win titles for Al Hilal, my head won’t change much. Everyone said the same when I went to France (about competitiveness), and it was the place I was hit the most in my life.”
He admitted that winning the league title in Saudi would be difficult for his team.
“I am sure that it won’t be easy to win the Saudi championship, other teams got stronger, and have famous players. It will be very interesting and I am sure you will be watching.”
