Russian Strikes Hit Ukrainian Apartment Buildings, Kills Three, Injure 25

According to regional authorities, at least three persons were killed and 25 were injured in a Russian air attack on a residential neighborhood in the industrial city of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine’s south.

Serhiy Lysak, the military governor of the Dnipropetrovsk area, announced on Telegram that 19 persons had been hospitalized.

He claimed that a “massive missile attack” devastated Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Three cruise missiles were deflected by air defenses, but others struck civilian targets.

Earlier, Oleksandr Vilkul, the leader of the local military administration, reported a hit on a five-story structure and noted that there were likely still persons under the wreckage.

Many additional Ukrainian regions heard air raid sirens. According to local authorities, Russian soldiers also launched a cruise missile barrage on Kyiv.

According to Ukrainian officials, the city’s air defenses stopped all approaching missiles.

There were additional claims of drone assaults on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s easternmost city.

According to British intelligence, Russia is reportedly receiving greater consignments of Iranian “kamikaze” drones.

According to the British Ministry of Defence, the drones will most likely be carried by ship rather than fly over the Caspian Sea.

“By supplying these weapons, Iran continues to violate UN Security Council Resolution 2231,” the latest bulletin from the ministry stated.

Moscow is also pushing ahead with domestic drone manufacture, “almost certainly” with Iranian support, according to the ministry.

Drones provide Russia with a “relatively cheap long-range strike capability at a time when it has expended a large proportion of its cruise missile stocks in Ukraine.”

Since the Kremlin initiated its full-scale invasion, the Caspian Sea has become a more crucial mode of transportation for Russia.

“It allows Russia to access Asian markets – including arms transfers – in ways that it hopes are less vulnerable to international sanctions,” according to the update.

Since the invasion began in February 2022, the British Ministry of Defence has been providing daily reports on the progress of the war to keep allies informed and counter disinformation.
