The ruble strengthened against the dollar and the euro as foreign currency trading started on Moscow Exchange on Monday compared with previous closing.
As of 10:20 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was down by 1.29% at 63.71 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 1.37% at 66.13 rubles.
As Monday trading opened on Moscow Exchange at 10:00 am the dollar exchange rate was down by 6.5 kopecks at 64.48 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was up by 1 ruble 29.75 kopecks at 68.3475 rubles.
The MOEX Index was up by 0.6% at 2,321.29 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was up by 1.33% at 1,147.29 points, according to trading data as of 10:20 am Moscow time. As trading opened the MOEX was up by 0.03% at 2,308.2 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS was down by half a percent at 1,126.55 points.
