Ronaldo Would Have Made A Difference Against Man City – Ferdinand

Rio Ferdinand has condemned Man United coach, Erik Ten Hag’s decision to bench Cristiano Ronaldo for the entire duration of the team’s heavy loss to Man City.

Recall that United were demolished 6-3 by Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad Stadium as hat-tricks from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden sealed a 6-3 victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

However, in a chat with FIVE YouTube channel, the former England international noted that midfielder Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo are being disrespected at Manchester United.

“Casemiro’s another one, he’s sitting there going, ‘I’ve won five Champions Leagues with this team’,’ Ferdinand told his FIVE YouTube channel after United’s defeat to City.

“He is a fantastic defensive midfielder, one of, if not the best, in the world before he came to Man United.

“The geeze [Casemiro] hasn’t been given a chance, he hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip. He’s come in and played in a Europa League game against some dead team.

“He ain’t been given a start in the team when he’s fit and ready…

“I wonder the impact it’s having on someone like him.

“I think we will [see Ronaldo and Casemiro play], but I think it’s the context of what games they’re playing in – they could be playing midweek Europa game. That won’t sit well with them

“They’d be sitting there going, ‘wow, I’m like the Rumbelows Cup player right now, the Carabao Cup player’.

Personal life

Ronaldo has had six children. He first became a father to a son, Cristiano Jr., born on 17 June 2010 in the United States. He stated that he has full custody of the child and would not be publicly revealing the identity of the mother per an agreement with her. In January 2015, Ronaldo announced that his five-year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk had ended.

Ronaldo became a father to twins, daughter Eva and son Mateo, born on 8 June 2017 in the United States via surrogacy. He is currently in a relationship with Argentine-Spanish model Georgina Rodríguez, who gave birth to their daughter Alana Martina on 12 November 2017. The couple expected their second pair of twins in 2022, though the male twin died during childbirth; the surviving female twin was named Bella Esmeralda. Ronaldo’s father, José, died of an alcoholism-related liver condition at age 52 in September 2005 when Ronaldo was 20.
