RB Leipzig is however demanding around £20m for the player they signed from another Premier League club Everton in 2019.
Rodgers confirmed that the Foxes are interested in signing the Nigerian on a permanent contract and will hold a discussion with Leipzig in the coming weeks.
“We will discuss this in the coming weeks and if it’s possible, I would love to do that,” Rodgers told a press conference ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.
