The disagreement between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and Senator Magnus Abe, the SDP’s candidate for governor in 2023, was resolved by President-elect Bola Tinubu on Thursday.

Due to their divergent political ideologies, Wike and Abe had experienced a rocky relationship over the years.

Abe defected from the All Progressives Congress, or APC, to the SDP in 2022 in order to run for governor of Rivers.

Abe was one of the political mobilizers for Tinubu’s presidential campaign before he left the APC.
