The Chairman Senate Committee on Privatization, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has sounded a warning that Nigeria may not be ready to combat banditry and kidnapping if the Local Government system is not revived, ABN TV reports.
He made this statement during a Senate plenary session, drawing from his experience as a former Governor of Abia State.
Senator Kalu recalled that during his tenure, Local Government Chairmen were important personalities who controlled their votes and were independent.
