Founder of Power World Ministries, Rev. Dr. Uche Ume, has joined the growing list of clerics and Christian leaders paying heartfelt tributes to the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, whom he described as a spiritual father, mentor, and patriarch of faith whose life illuminated countless destinies across the world.

Speaking after visiting the Ukpai family in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Rev. Ume revealed that he and his wife, alongside members of his ministry, spent time with Mummy Dr. Uma Ukpai and other family members to offer condolences and prayers. The delegation also worshipped with members of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association Fellowship, a moment he described as both painful and spiritually uplifting.
“I went with my wife and some of my people to see Mummy Dr. Uma Ukpai and the family yesterday and today. We also worshipped with Daddy Uma’s fellowship yesterday. We were joined by Daddy Rev. P. K. Emeaba. I personally went with a heavy heart, but seeing Mummy, the children, and members of the ministry strong encouraged me, and I joined them in glorifying God for the gift of Daddy Uma,” he shared.

Rev. Ume said the unwavering faith and composure of the family reminded him of the depth of spiritual strength Rev. Uma Ukpai embodied while alive. He noted that Daddy Uma’s ministry had raised many ministers, built families in faith, and championed evangelism beyond denominational boundaries.
He went on to describe his encounter with the late evangelist as one of life’s greatest privileges:
“I never saw Abraham or David in this life, I will see them in heaven, but I’m happy that I saw Daddy Uma Ukpai and related with him as a son. I will still see him on that glorious day when the saints shall gather from all walks of life. Glory!”

Rev. Ume further pledged to uphold the vision and teachings of his spiritual father, promising to continue propagating the gospel with the same fire and conviction that characterized Uma Ukpai’s ministry.
“Continue to rest, my father. Your boy, Uche Ume, will remain loyal to your house till Jesus comes,” he affirmed.
Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80, is widely celebrated as one of Africa’s greatest evangelists, a man of miracles, deep faith, and global influence. His crusades and humanitarian outreaches spanned over six decades, touching millions and leaving behind an enduring legacy of revival, compassion, and discipleship.
The Ukpai family has announced that details of the funeral and memorial arrangements will be made public in due course.
