Retrial: Don’t Be Distracted By Enemies Of Progress, Clergy Urges Kalu

A cleric, Pastor Smart Emiyan has urged the former governor of Abia state, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu not to allow people he described as enemies of progress not to use his retrial in court over alleged financial impropriety to distract him from playing a key political role in the country.

The Senior Pastor of Will of God Evangelical Ministry Lagos, while delivering his sermon on Sunday described the Senate Chief Whip as a major political stakeholder in Nigeria, urging him not to relent.

In the sermon titled ‘Light at the end of the tunnel’; the cleric predicted that Sen. Kalu’s retrial would propel him to greater political height.

“Senator Kalu should be proud of himself because his people and those he is representing love him so much; He should be happy because he has exceptional grace from God; I have had an encounter with lots of them from Abia and they told me Senator Kalu has done well as a Senator; even when he was a governor, he did very well.

“If the people you represent loves you, God cannot abandon you. At the end of the tunnel, surely, there would be light.

“On this alter, I am calling on him not to give up. Continue doing the great things you are known for; your political elevation is waiting for you at the end of this politically motivated trial. You will sit on that exalted seat.

“Also forgive those who instigated this evil against you, for their day of judgement is near”

He further compared the trial of Senator Kalu to the Biblical Joseph

“We all go through different trials and seasons in our lives whether it be financially, physically (being sick), etc. but there is a promise that God gives us that I would like to share with you; He does not abandon His own. Senator Kalu, you’re not alone!

“We have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

“Jesus Himself said, “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10).”

The Man of God further urged the former Governor to be proud of himself because he has touched many lives positively and that his legacies are so glaring for all to see.
