The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has denied reports that its presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, was in talks with his Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, counterpart, Atiku Abubakar.
According to the NNPP, Atiku should respect his age because Kwankwaso will never form an alliance with him.
Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali, National Chairman of the NNPP, stated that members of the party are concerned about Atiku’s comments because there is a possibility of an alliance.
“We are not in talks with Atiku,” Alkali told journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.
“He should know that there are other people who have the right to be president and Kwankwaso has done a lot for Nigerians and Nigeria. Kwankwaso is a forerunner in the contest”.
“We have no talk with Atiku and we are not planning an alliance with Atiku”.
“He should respect his age and he can’t force anyone to endorse him.”
