Reps Confirms Lt-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede As Chief of Army Staff

The House of Representatives, on Thursday, officially confirmed the appointment of Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede as the substantive Chief of Army Staff.

This development follows his screening on Wednesday by the Joint Committees on Defence and Army.

During Thursday’s plenary, the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Babajimi Benson, presented the screening report, recommending Oluyede’s confirmation. The House granted the recommendation during the session, which was presided over by Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu.

Lt-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede’s confirmation marks a significant step in solidifying the leadership of the Nigerian Army, as the nation continues to tackle pressing security challenges.
