Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency of Abia State, Rep. Sam Onuigbo has congratulated his constituent and a Commonwealth Games Gold medalist, Chioma Onyekwere on his recognition by President Muhammadu Buhari as a holder of prestigious national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
Onuigbo in a goodwill message on Friday said the honour is well-deserved, is in recognition of Chioma’s remarkable exploits in sports.
He added that the honour testifies to the fact that Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency is a constituency of great persons, saying Chioma’s father, Chief Chima Uzoma Onyekwere OON is an awardee of the Officer of the Order of the Niger(OON), a clear example that Chioma is from a family of trailblazers.
“Chioma’s outstanding accomplishments are worthy of recognition, celebration, and emulation. She is indeed a true ambassador of our people and I am proud of her and the many women and girls of our great federal constituency.
“On behalf of the good people of great Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, I congratulate Chioma and wish her all the best in her future endeavours,” he added.
