Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency of Abia State, Hon. Sam Onuigbo has made the list of top 100 environmental professionals in Nigeria.
He featured along with the Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, Prof. Oladele Osinbajo, Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, Hamzat Lawal and others.
Environment Africa Magazine, the selecting organisation said “the listing highlights the professionals and activists who have become synonymous to, those who have shaped the environment as we know it today and those still providing solutions and strategies to embed environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
“Our list is carefully culled and designed to reflect and identify the most visible and impactful professionals in all areas of the environment contributing and profering durable solutions. From Climate Action, Waste Management, Clean Energy, Remediation, Corporate Sustainability, Services, Environmental Intrastructure to Policy and Advocacy; these protessionals have stamped their mark on Ngeria’s Environmental sector”.
Rep. Onuigbo’s inclusion may not be unconnected with his sponsorship of Nigeria’s landmark Climate Change Act, advocacy efforts including through his leadership of Global Legislators Organisation for a Balanced Environment (GLOBE) in Africa, Nigeria and the Climate Parliament network in Nigeria.
He has also offered support for young climate activists and many more.
