Rep. Ogah Congratulates Senator Azuta-Mbata On Emergence As Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide President-General

Rep. Amobi Godwin Ogah, the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his election as the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

The election, held on Friday at the historic Old Government Lodge in Enugu, brought together delegates from across the Igbo-speaking states. Delegates from Rivers State unanimously nominated Senator Azuta-Mbata for the prestigious position, marking a historic moment for both the state and the socio-cultural organization.

Azuta-Mbata’s emergence follows the zoning of the role to Rivers State after the passing of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the immediate past President-General who represented Imo State. This development underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and unity among Ndigbo.

His election as the first Rivers indigene to lead Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide represents a significant milestone, symbolizing a broader embrace of diversity within the Igbo community.

In a congratulatory statement released on Sunday, Rep. Ogah, a vocal advocate for the Igbo cause, expressed optimism about Senator Azuta-Mbata’s leadership. He highlighted the Senator’s extensive political and administrative experience, describing it as a valuable asset to Ohanaeze Ndigbo in its mission to advance the interests of the Igbo people both at home and in the diaspora.
