Member representing Bende federal constituency of Abia State, Rep. Benjamin Kalu has congratulated the people of the Constituency as the world ushers in new year, saying it provides the people with opportunity to stand for good governance, growth, and development of the constituency, state, and nation at large.
The lawmaker expressed hope and optimism for the new year is filled with bright future ahead.
“This new year also marks the conclusion of my first tenure as your Representative and It is my pleasure to take this moment to express my deep appreciation for your support and trust in me in the last three years. It has been an honor to serve you and work on your behalf to address the numerous challenges facing our constituency and successfully bring solutions to some of them,” he said in a release her personally signed.
Rep. Kalu who is the spokesperson of the House of Representatives said Bende is a land of great minds who have distinguished themselves through hard work, dedication and focus in the growth and development of the people and home.
According to him, good governance has always been a desired tool to bring this noble ambition to fruition, expressing regret that years have gone by without the people having access to enjoy the luxury as a result of bad leadership they have experienced have experienced.

He continued “Three years ago, you made a choice as a people and stood your ground to ensure I was elected without any compromise. 2019 will always remain the dawn of a new day in Bende Federal Constituency not because the elections were fought and won but because for once, the voice of reasoning, patriotism and equity suppressed self-centeredness and greed to make the choice for a new leadership a reality. The popular quote ‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei’ became an reality for us all.
“Regardless of the litigations, distractions in various forms, i remained resolute in my focus to bring you the dividends of democracy, to stay true to the promises as stated in my manifesto putting challenges first, far above any other thing because I believe that we win only the day we are victorious over these challenges in our constituency.
“I am proud of what we have accomplished together in the last couple of years, we have made laudable progress just like we promised.
“In Education we have renovated and reconstructed over 30 schools across all communities in Bende, we have built and renovated Health Centers, provided functional maternity centers for pregnant women, we have constructed over 15 roads cutting across all nooks and crannies of Bende. All of these in addition to our bills and motions on the floor of the Green Chambers to make the lives of Nigerians better. Attached is a detailed report that contains my achievements just in three years.
“I am aware that we have not fulfilled all the promises we made because truthfully, four years is insufficient to commence, implement and solve all the problems in our constituency. However, we have pushed all frontiers to ensure that we deliver on your mandate to a reasonable extent.
“Having presented myself to be re-elected into the House of Representatives and clinched successfully the nomination of my party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), I hereby formally inform you of my candidacy to continue representing you, the good people of Bende Federal Constituency at the Green Chambers.
“With your support, I am confident that we can continue to make progress and build a brighter future for our community.
“Thank you again for your unwavering support and for the privilege of serving as your Representative.
