Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has named legal luminary, Mike Ozekhome, as being instrumental to the release of veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu.

ABN TV recalls that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) on Tuesday secured the release of Agu from the Department of State Services (DSS).

Agu was first arrested by the Nigerian Army on October 7, 2021, around Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State, for wearing a Biafra outfit. The army had accused him of soliciting support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He was subsequently handed over to the DSS for investigation and prosecution.

Following his release, Omokri took to his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday night to thank Ozekhome, and — as usual — blast the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

“Ever grateful to Mike Ozekhome for being instrumental to the release of Chiwetalu Agu after his unjust and illegal arrest by a repressive regime that celebrates Gumi for promoting terrorist and denigrates Agu for expressing his freedom of thought via his dressing,” Omokri wrote.
