The Sky Blues rallied to win the game after Jonathan Alukwu gave Sporting Lagos the lead on 21 minutes.
Franck Mawuena restored parity for Remo Stars before Sikiru Alimi netted the winning goal from the spot.
Bankole celebrated the win on his Official X handle.
“Victory feeling we secured the bragging right in the Southwest derby, Thank God. We will meet again Sporting Lagos,” the post read.
Remo Stars secured top position on the NPFL table following the win.
