Former governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has said he does not see any need for the establishment of the recently announced regional security, Ebube Agu by South East Governors and Amotekun in South West.
The Senate Chief Whip while stating that they are not useful to the country called for empowerment the nation’s security forces for effective performance.
“Left for me, I can’t even support regional (security) organizations like Amotekun, Ebube Agu and all the rest of them. They are not helpful to the country.
“I say it clearly. I don’t think they are. We have the Nigerian Police, we have the Nigerian Army, Air Force, the Navy, and others. It’s good to appreciate what you have.
“People are not appreciating the Nigerian Armed Forces because it takes a lot to wear a uniform. In security, the greatest asset we have is our Armed Forces” he said on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics.
