A construction firm, Pumeco Construction Company Nigeria Limited has denied allegations that it is involved in the execution of sub-standard projects in Abia state.
This is in response to allegation by one Ariwa Zuby who had taken to a website the accuse the construction company of being responsible for the collapse of Umuahia/Uzuakoli road leading to Arochukwu. Zuby in his publication on www.easterntruth.com
The company in a response signed by one Engr. Nnaemeka Ezeanyagu denied being responsible for the collapse of the road, saying it was previously awarded by the government of former governor Theodore Orji but was abandoned due to lack of funds.

He said, “That the said Umuahia/Uzuakoli Road was awarded for expansion by Governor T. A. Orji but was not funded and as such could not continue under the last dispensation.”
Engr. Ezeanyagu also denied the company’s involvement in the ongoing rehabilitation works across Abia roads, saying its equipment was only hired and the state’s Ministry of works is directly undertaking the reconstruction and rehabilitation projects.
“Secondly, all the on-going road rehabilitation in Umuahia by the State Government is been done directly by the Abia State Ministry of Works”, he said.
He, therefore, called on Abians to ignore the allegation, saying it is the fabrication of a blackmailer seeking attention.
