Presidential Election: My Life Under Threat – INEC Official Adjourns Results Collation In Rivers

Prof. Charles Adias, the state collation officer for Rivers State’s presidential election, has postponed the collation of Saturday’s election results.

Adias because of purported threats against his life put the state’s collation of results on hold from unidentified party members.

On Tuesday morning at the State Collation Center in Port Harcourt, the state capital, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Otueke, made the announcement of the break.
Aderemi Adeoye, the Commissioner of Police for the Rivers Presidential Election, pleaded with the collation officer to identify people posing a threat to his life.

Adias stated he won’t move further, though, unless the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner addresses some problems with individuals threatening him and the broken Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.

Results from 21 local government areas have been compiled prior to his statement, however, Obio-Akpor and Degema are still pending.
