Presidential Election: Fani-Kayode Blasts Obasanjo Over Poll Cancellation Calls

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president, has come under fire from Femi Fani-Kayode, a senior member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for advocating for the annulment of Saturday’s poll.

Fani-Kayode claimed that by choosing chaos, Obasanjo has entered the ring of fire.

Obasanjo had urged the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC to void the presidential and National Assembly elections in contested districts.

According to him, there were numerous election-related disruptions, and “stress is building up” over the results.

The wise man said that the manual transmission of results, which he claimed had been manipulated and falsified, had compromised INEC personnel.

The former aviation minister responded to Obasanjo’s statement by saying that Obasanjo had chosen the path of “lawlessness and anarchy.”

He tweeted: “After declaring for Obi, OBJ became an interested party & lost the right to act as an independent statesman. He has plunged into the ring of fire & has chosen the path of lawlessness & anarchy.”

“By attempting to scuttle democracy he has wiped away the good he has done in the past.”
