Presbyterian Church Disowns Prophet Who Allegedly Planted Charms In Cross River

The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria has said the prophet who was recently nabbed in Itigidi, Cross River State while attempting to plant a suspected charm is not its minister.

The church insisted that the suspect, Paul Abam is neither its worker nor member.

In a release on Wednesday signed by the Head, Department of Information and Public Affairs, Rev. Dr Nnoke Ibe made available to ABN TV, the Church blamed some media organizations for attributing to prophet Abam membership of Presbyterian Church.

“The attention of the Presbytarian Church of Nigeria has been drawn to a report in the media concerning the said prophet, Paul Abam who was allegedly caught planting charms in a compound in Itigidi, Cross River State. Unfortunately, without any attempt at verification, some news outlets have linked the said ‘prophet’ with the Presbytarian Church of Nigeria.

“The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria wants to inform the public that Paul Abam IS NOT a minister in the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria nor is he a member of the Church,” it says.

The Church, therefore, emphasized that as a Christian body, it does not associate with anything diabolical and human ritualism.

“We want to further inform the public that the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, being of the Reformed Christian family abhors, condemns and resists anything and everything that tends towards idolatry, diabolism and human ritualism. We maintain the exclusive position of Christ Jesus as the only Saviour of humankind and the only mediator between the world and God.

“We, therefore, call on the public to disregard any news and publication that links Paul Abam with the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. Thank you”.
