..…Criticism of political culture and jobless politics
Hon. Amobi Ogah has taken a swipe at what he described as “jobless politics” in Abia State, where individuals without any viable means of livelihood rely solely on political patronage and contracts.
The Isuikwuato/Umunneochi lawmaker told ABN TV in an exclusive interview that many of those now attacking Governor Otti are political opportunists empowered by past administrations for selfish control.
“Politics is not to take what belongs to the masses. Every politician should look for something doing. Ninety percent of them don’t have jobs, yet they want to be given contracts or handouts. That is not leadership,” Ogah asserted.
He urged political actors to engage in meaningful economic activities rather than using politics as a survival strategy, warning that such an approach undermines governance and development.
