Officers of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to Abia State Police Command have arrested two suspected assassins and arm robbers, Victor Mark Onyekachi, and Emmanuel Okorie both of whom are 25 years.
Addressing newsmen in Umuahia on Wednesday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Janet E. Agbede said the arrest of the suspects followed a petition by one Mark Okorie Obonnaya of Umungere Amahia Amaogudu Imenyi Isukwuato on July 16, 2020.
According to CP, Mr. Obonnaya alleged that he was attacked and robbed of his Samsung Galaxy S9 plus, a Phone valued at #400,000.00, Infinix phone valued at #48,500.00, as well as a cash sum of #357,000.00 at his home.
The armed men who appeared in military uniform was said to have also forced the victim make a transfer of #100,000.00 into a provided Bank account.
CP Agbede said men of the SARS swung into action, leading to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the two phones.
According to the police chief, the suspects have confessed to the crime and claimed that they were sent by one Uche (surname unknown) to assassinate the complaint.
She added that effort is intensified toward arresting the king-pin as well as recovering other exhibits.
