Police Launch Night Patrols To Strengthen Security In Anambra

In a move to strengthen public safety and deter criminal activity, the Anambra State Police Command has launched intensified night patrols across the state.

This development was disclosed in a statement issued Tuesday by the command’s public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who said the initiative follows a directive from the commissioner of police, CP Ikioye Orutugu.

According to the statement, the patrols, which began Monday, are part of efforts to reinforce the police’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

“Anambra State police operatives, on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, have stepped up night patrols aimed at reinforcing the police’s commitment to serving and protecting the community,” the statement read.

CP Orutugu, while addressing the officers, urged them to remain vigilant and proactive in crime prevention. He also emphasized professionalism during the exercise.

“He further charged the operatives to conduct patrols with diligence, respect, and courtesy and to respect the rights of the citizens,” the statement added.

“This initiative aims to boost security and reassure residents of the police’s commitment to their safety.”

The Command called on residents to continue cooperating with law enforcement to ensure a safer environment for all.
