Hon. Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly who was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunabakpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha, has been found dead. Azuka, elected under the Labour Party (LP) platform, was abducted while heading home.
A joint security team made the grim discovery of his decomposing body near the 2nd Niger Bridge in the early hours of Thursday.
Confirming the tragic incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for Anambra State, Tochukwu Ikenga, stated:

“In the early hours of today, February 6, 2025, at the Second Niger Bridge, the joint security team comprising the Police and AVG Operatives, on a mission to rescue Hon. Azuka, regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene.”
Ikenga assured the public that investigations are ongoing and pledged updates as the security team continues efforts to apprehend all suspects linked to the crime.
The police revealed that some suspects had already been arrested, noting that it was these individuals who led the security operatives to the location where the lawmaker’s body had been dumped.
Authorities are intensifying their operations to ensure that justice is served and to prevent further incidents of violence in the state.
