The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three local hunters and others for conspiring to aid kidnapping in Girei and Fufore Local Governments in the state.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sulaan Nguroje, in a statement said the suspects: Auwal Mohammed (28), Isa Umaru (40), and Rabiu Mohammed (19) have been terrorising Pariya Daware and Girei villages.
He said the police had recovered one motorcycle, locally made pistols and other items from the suspects.
“Investigation so far reveals that the suspects betrayed the trust repost in them by the community members of protecting lives and property, went ahead supplying food items and other basic needs to their fellow kidnappers around that area,” the statement said.
