The Katsina State Police Command on Monday paraded a 17-year-old boy, Abdulrahman Ibrahim for allegedly killing a phone dealer in the Katsina metropolis.
According to the command’s spokesman, CSP Gambo Isah, nemesis caught up with the suspect after he lured the phone dealer into an uncompleted building in the Modoji area, Katsina, and stabbed him in the neck with a knife, killing him eventually.
Abdulrahman Ibrahim in an interview with newsmen alleged that he killed the man in “self-defence”.
According to him, “I killed him when he wanted to kill me and wounded me in the hand.”
In a related development, CSP Gambo said police operatives from the command raided some criminal hideouts within the state metropolis and arrested 72 suspected social miscreants, popularly referred to as Kauraye in Hausa with a knack for phone snatching.
According to CSP Gambo, the areas raided include Sabuwar Unguwa, Gadar Nayalli, Modoji, Tudun YanLihida, Kwabren Dorawa, Janbango, Abbatuwa, Filin Canada, Lambun Dankwai, Kofar Marusa, Tsalawa, and Chake among others.
