Police Arrest Man For Alleged Newborn Murder In Adamawa

A 19-year-old man (name withheld) has been arrested by the Adamawa Police for allegedly killing his newborn in the state’s Mubi North LGA.

The Spokesman of the Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, stated this in a statement in Yola on Saturday.

He said that operatives of the command detained the suspect on Nov. 8 over the alleged murder of the three-day-old baby boy.

Nguroje said the mother of the baby (name withheld), who is the suspect’s girlfriend, reported the matter to the police.

“The suspect was accused by the complainant, who is his girlfriend, of murdering the three-day-old baby after she gave birth to it,” he said.

Nguroje said preliminary investigation showed that the suspect impregnated the complainant, and after giving birth, she called the suspect to come for his baby.
