A former councilor has been arrested alongside six other suspects over alleged criminal activities within the Enugu metropolis, the police in Enugu State have said.
The former lawmaker, Henry Agbo Ogbonna, who represented Ikiriki Ward 6, Enugu South Local Government Area, was arrested with the six suspects on December 6.
The development was contained in a statement issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Daniel Ndukwe.

According to Ndukwe, the police recovered six firearms, 16 live cartridges, and a snatched motor vehicle from the six suspects.
The PPRO stated that police operatives serving in the Abakpa Police Division, in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Watch Group.
“The suspect and cohorts, who escaped, had attacked their male victim, dispossessed him of his phones, and snatched his Toyota Camry car in the process,” he said.
He disclosed that they were on the verge of escaping when police operatives swooped on them, arrested the suspect, and recovered one locally-made double-barreled pistol and the vehicle.
