In Lagos State, suspected political thugs attacked Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi’s supporters.
According to reports, the incident comes on the heels of the Obi/Datti massive rally, which is currently taking place at Tafawa Belewa Square, TBS, Lagos.
A video obtained by Daily Post showed some Peter Obi supporters regretting how thugs attacked them in the state’s Jakande, Lekki region.
According to the victims, the suspects cut them with machetes, destroyed their car, and stole their phones, and other goods for supposedly wearing LP-branded clothing.
Dr. Aliyu Tanko, the LP presidential campaign council spokeswoman, verified the development.
“The ObiDent Movement is under attack in Lagos, and they are preventing our members from attending the TBS march,” he claimed.
“Nothing can put a stop to a movement whose time has come. Take note, security personnel. We continue to move boldly and confidently.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, verified the terrible situation when reached and said,
“I don’t know if they are members of the Labour Party or the APC, but I can confirm that some people attacked others, and the DPO in that area is already looking into it,” he said.
When asked if any lives were lost during the event, the PPRO stated that he had yet to receive details.
