Peseiro restates commitment to Super Eagles, denies Zamalek links
Nigeria head coach, Jose Peseiro has debunked reports that he has applied to coach Egyptian club, Zamalek SC.
The 63-year-old was said to have submitted his CV to the Zamalek management for the vacant coaching job.
Peseiro however said his focus is on the Super Eagles job.
“At present, all my focus is on the Nigerian national team only,” the Portuguese told btolat.com.
“There are no negotiations from Zamalek in any case and I am not thinking about anything else.”
Peseiro signed a contract extension with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
He is under pressure following the Super Eagles’ poor start to the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
There have been persistent calls for his sack after the Super Eagles could only draw in their opening two games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
