The Peoples’ Democratic Party’s youth leader has congratulated the new Minority leaders of the 10th assembly and expressed satisfaction with the choices arrived at by the party.
Senator Simon Favour Mwadkwon and Hon. Chinda Kingley emerged as the Senate Minority leaders and House of Representatives Minority leaders respectively, on Monday as announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.
In a statement made available in Abuja on Tuesday, the PDP Youth leader expressed great satisfaction with the various choices and the personalities of the legislators and called for all Interests to respect the choices made by the party so as not to further polarise the party for needless crisis.
“We are confident of the capacity of the new Minority leadership in the 10th assembly as presented by our party PDP, they are well respected and experienced ranking legislators, who have also made sacrifices for the party in the past and we must accord them with necessary support and cooperation to ensure our party regains its rightful place in the political leadership of Nigeria”
Furthermore, we appreciate efforts made by the party’s National Working Committee as well as the capacity demonstrated by former Rivers State Governor Barr. Nyesom Wike for ensuring fairness, equity, and justice in the distribution of offices across the various minority parties and geopolitical zones.
“There are those behind the scene who ensures fairness, equity, and justice in the distribution of the various offices across the minority political parties in the National Assembly, and one of the prominent leaders of our party who stood firm, the person of His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Wike. A man, passionate about the party, a real defender, and a true advocate of the Principle of Federal Character. We must not always forget his role and what he stands for as a person. It is noteworthy to place premium regards on his person and efforts”
