Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, has said that the forthcoming national convention of the peoples democratic party must be anchored on fair processes, open debate and inclusivity.
Makinde, in a newsletter released on Thursday evening, stressed that this was crucial to repositioning the party and strengthening its chances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PDP is scheduled to hold its elective convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, where 19 new members of the national working committee are expected to emerge.
The party, at its 101st national executive committee meeting on July 24, said the convention was the party’s pathway to restructure and reposition itself.
