The Abia State Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has donated food items and other household materials to over 100 widows of deceased police officers in Abia State.
State President of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Mrs. Esther Uma Orji, made the presentation on behalf of the Zone 9 PCRC led by Dr. Collins Obi at the office of the Acting Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone 9, Umuahia, DCP Reuben Abiola.
“I want to thank the PCRC zone 9, they have tried; this is a good gesture that is worthy of emulation, and I want other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate them. I want to specifically thank the leadership for remembering these poor widows and pray God should bless them.
Obi in his speech while appreciating the leadership roles of his team and the Patron of Zone 9 Umuahia, PCRC, Chief Onyekachi Okogbue for their contributions.
He recalled that he had extended such philanthropic gestures over the years, even as he vowed to continue reaching out to the widows to cushion the trauma they are facing as a result of the loss of their husbands under the prevailing excruciating economic hardship.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by DCP Uma l. Orji, psc, Finance and Administration; DCP Ochiabutor K.Ejike, Operations; His Worship Ajaegbu Chibuzo; Nnaemeka Owunne; Nze Francis Obodoalagu; and Sir Uzomba Ekwuribe, among other dignitaries and senior police officers in Zone 9, Umuahia.
