Mr. P, the award-winning artist, has accused the Lagos State Police Command of remaining mute on the violence against the Igbo during the state’s recent elections.

On Sunday, Mr. P rushed to Twitter to beg forgiveness for Grammy-nominated afrobeat singer Seun Kuti, who was proclaimed sought for attacking a police officer in uniform in a viral video.

He claimed Kuti most likely assaulted the officer because his family was in danger.

In response to his tweet, Lagos State Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin challenged the musician to smack an unarmed lone police officer whenever he believes his family is in danger and use the same rationale he is using to defend Kuti.

Mr. P was not pleased with his answer and responded, “Wow! And you were very prompt in responding. We haven’t forgotten how deafeningly silent you were during the elections about the whole menace to Igbos in Lagos!”

“We are watching, and so is the rest of the world! We’re all right, las las!”
