Oyo Records Second COVID-19 Death

The Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force has confirmed the second COVID-19 death in the state.

Chairman of the team, Governor Seyi Makinde, made this disclosure via his Twitter on Monday.

He said the fatality came from one of the three new coronavirus patients announced earlier by the Task Force on Sunday.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the state to two, while the number of confirmed cases as of the time of filing this report stands at 21.

ABN TV reports that the number of active cases in the state dropped from nine to eight as a result of the new fatality.

“Sadly, one of the new COVID-19 cases announced yesterday (Sunday), passed away this morning. This brings the number of COVID-19 related deaths in the state to two.

“So, there are currently eight active cases in Oyo State. Testing is still ongoing at the drive-through/walk-through testing centre at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan,” Makinde stated.
