Governor Alex Otti has urged Nigerians to resist ethnic and religious extremism, calling for dialogue, diplomacy, and tolerance as the foundation for peaceful coexistence in the country.
Delivering his address at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day Arcade in Umuahia, the Governor stressed that violence has no place in a modern democratic society and warned against rhetoric that threatens national unity.
He noted that while disagreements are inevitable in any human society, what defines a nation’s strength is its ability to resolve conflicts through engagement and mutual respect.
Otti emphasized that Nigerians must rise above divisive narratives and focus on the values that bind them together as one people.
The Governor encouraged citizens to draw inspiration from the discipline, courage, and ethical standards of the armed forces, applying those principles in everyday life to strengthen institutions and promote good governance.
