A stalwart of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA in Abia State, Sir Chikwe Udensi has reacted to a comment credited to the state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu where he said he wants to emulate his friend and colleague governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
Gov. Ikpeazu had invited Wike as a guest to the commissioning of the first-ever flyover in Abia State located in Aba on Monday where he mocked those who criticised him for taking over six years to construct the flyover, saying it is a sad day for them.
His administration had conceived the idea of the project, which many Abians took a lot of time to complete.
But responding to the governor during his weekly appearance on Love FM’s Open Parliament, streamed live on ABN TV and Radio, Sir Udensi an Interpol Systems Consultant while congratulating the governor for achieving the feat urged him to emulate the good side of his guest, Nyesom Wike by delivering more flyovers, good road networks, payment of salaries and pensions, transparency in local government fund and more.
“These are areas he can emulate, but the use of words that look derogatory on those who are opposed to you, they are not excellent,” he said.
He urged Ikpeazu to demonstrate excellency in behaviour and character in line with the title of “His Excellency” as governor.
Sir Udensi also expressed reservation with the cost of constructing the flyover which according to him was initially quoted to cost N1.4bn according to information from a former Attorney General of the state.
He expressed surprise that the actual contract award hit N4bn, urging the state government to reveal the actual cost of the project.
He said inquiries from his friends in SETRACO Construction Ltd indicate that the project should not cost up to a billion Naira.
