Osimhen Turkish Super Liga Debut Saturday

Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles’ talisman, will play in his first Turkish Super Liga match on Saturday.

The former Napoli star chose to shift bases to Turkey in the summer after seeing his proposed moves to Chelsea and Al-Ahli fall through.

Last Wednesday, Galatasaray announced that it would pay Osimhen €6 million (£5 million, $7.9 million) in wages for the 2024-25 campaign. The agreement does not include an option or obligation to buy the Nigerian international.

Meanwhile, Osimhen, who was on international duty for Nigeria in the AFCON 2025 double header against Benin and Rwanda, will fly back to Turkey on time to begin training with his new teammates.

Osimhen is now expected to make his debut on September 14 when Galatasaray face Rizespor in a Turkish Super Lig fixture at the Rams Park.

Interestingly, and a week later the striker could come up against Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
