[OPINION] Who Is Afraid Of Chief Amobi Ogah?

Few days ago, the social media was ago with a story published on profjaysblog and credited to one Mr Ogbonna from Isuikwuato with the title; “Is Isuikwuato PDP Planning to Fail Again?”.

Chief Amobi Ogah
It’s quite obvious that the said Mr Ogbonna is not a resident in Isuikwuato nor in Abia State from the way he sounded on his petty piece of write up.

Ever since the pictures of Chief Amobi Ogah and Gov Okezie Ikpeazu at his country home in Umuobiakwa surfaced online, and his alleged plans to cross carpet from All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), some political orphans and misplaced politicians have been running helter skelter and from pillar to post like one without shock absorber.

I do not have the permission of the perceived receiver of the said concocted story but as an insider and one who’s very close to Chief Amobi Ogah, I had to put this straight, so that, all these political jobbers with misplaced priorities who have nothing to show but hide behind the keyboard to fabricate lies to the public in other to keep deceiving the gullibles can learn and know the truth.

I would like to treat the issues as raised by the writer while trying to create crisis where there’s none in Isuikwuato PDP.

1. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isuikwuato Local Government Area is never in crisis as the writer has portrayed in his hurriedly hatched write up.

2. For Mr Ogbonna to have said Chief Amobi Ogah was defeated during the 2018 primaries of All Progressive Congress (APC) really shows that he’s ignorant of the political atmosphere and permutations in the build up of the 2019 general elections in Abia State. For the avoidance of doubt, Chief Amobi Ogah was never defeated during All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries rather, he stepped down for Hon Bar Nkeiruka Onyejeocha since his elder brother, Min Uchechukwu Ogah was the party’s Governorship candidate. His decision to step down was widely communicated on blogs and social media and was also carried by the same profjaysblog on the 14th of October, 2018.

3. Mr Ogbonna claimed that, Oguduasa in Isuikwuato is more populated than Uturu without putting into consideration the voting strength of Abia State University (ABSU) students in Uturu. It will be of no use trying to compare Oguduasa with Uturu politically.

4. If Mr Ogbonna and his pay masters are not afraid of Chief Amobi Ogah, they would not have been hiding under the pseudo name that’s not known within the high ranking members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isuikwuato where he claimed to have hailed from.

5. It is within the constitutional right of Chief Amobi Ogah to belong to any political party of his choice for the protection of his interest as enshrined in section 40 of the Federal Republican of Nigeria’s constitution 1999 (as amended). It means, he is free to join any association, political party and also free to exit same freely without any molestations of any kind.

6. If not that, Mr Ogbonna and his cohorts are afraid of Chief Amobi Ogah and his political weights, they would not have been having series of unfortunate sleepless night for one who has neither declared his interest to run Isuikwuato State Constituency nor for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency.

7. Chief Amobi Ogah is very busy with other positive engagements and would not be distracted with the pettiness of some persons who have no other jobs outside politics of bitterness.

8. At the right time, he shall make a statement and on that statement, we shall stand.
