Like a Cannon Fodder , it’s pitiable Chief Ikechi Emenike could descend so low in a desperate attempt to score cheap political points and attempt to misguide the judgement of unsuspecting members of the public in his letter of reply to the invitation extended to him by the National Reconciliation Committee of APC led by H.E Senator Abdullahi Adamu ( former Govermor of Nasarawa State).
Against the run of play, enstranged Chief Emenike whimsically abandoned the subject of his invitation and resorted to grandstanding and needless vituperation against the former Govermor of Abia State and Distinguished Senate Chief Whip Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
One wonders what could have blinded Chief Emenike to stray into the dark recesses of misdemeanor and malicious falsehood against Senator Orji Kalu except his uncontrollable Temperament which character will never allow him pretend about his fears for OUK’s personality and elaborate results-oriented political establishment with visible tentacles in every nooks and corners of the Nigerian Federation.
It sounds despicable and defeatist in a democratic dispensation that Chief Emenike still adorns himself as the body , soul and spirit of APC in a State like Abia , otherwise, how could one imagine his choice of derogatory categorization of notable Abians like Senator Chris Adighije, Dr Sam Nkire, Hon Benjamin Kalu , Senator Nkechi Nwogu, Dr Emeka Wogu , Dr Alex Otti , Chief Ume Kalu SAN , Dr Chidia Maduekwe , Gen Ihejirika (rtd) , Dr Uche Ogah , Rt Hon Stanley Ohajuruka, Hon Emeka Atuma, Etigwe Uwa SAN , Rt Hon Martins Azubike, Rt Hon Prince Arua Arunsi who are card carrying members of APC as belonging to Senator Orji Kalu’s group.
In 2019, Senator Orji Kalu delivered his polling unit, ward, LGA and Abia North Senatorial zone to APC in the general Elections , this success story brought over 65% votes to President Buhari ( the highest in the South East and South South Geo political zones of Nigeria ) , Produced two Federal House of Representatives members and 3 State Assembly Members for the first time in APC , all from Abia North Senatorial zone.
Same cannot be said of Chief Emenike who lost in all the elections from his polling unit to the Senatorial level including the Presidential Election. what could have made Chief Emenike feel he can arrogate Abia APC to an individual in utter exclusion of major and critical stakeholders and come out successful in any Election ?
As a former Govermor with towering democratic credentials, OUK has acquitted himself creditably well with Abia APC and Electorates through wide consultations, servant-leadership, team Spirit and Community service delivery. These have reflected on the successes , growth and stability of Abia APC under his watch as the natural leader especially in a State like Abia without an APC Governor.
Like Macbeth, anyone who thinks he can become a king by destroying others shall only enjoy harvests of destructions as reward.
We therefore enjoin the APC reconciliation Committee and the general public to disregard Chief Emenike’s diatribe and treat same as a figment of imagination arising from an inordinate political ambition of a lone Ranger. What High Chief Ikechi Emenike seeks to make out of this smear campaign and character assassination is hardly achieved through ignoble path of needless controversy . His 2023 agenda is not bigger than the unity, peace and well being of Abia APC. OUK became Abia Govermor 21 yrs ago and let this sit down well with Chief Emenike and his band of co- travellers.
