Member representing the South East on the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission, Rep. Sam Onuigbo, has described as painful, the death of the former Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu CON SAN.
Hon. Onuigbo stated this in a condolence message released on Thursday afternoon, in Umuahia.
Recalling Akeredolu’s life of service first as a lawyer, President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Attorney General of Ondo State, and as Governor of Ondo State, Onuigbo said that while we mourn the demise of the former Governor, “…we must be grateful for the services he rendered to our great country, and celebrate him for the life he lived. “
Akeredolu died on December 27, 2023, in Germany, following a protracted battle with leukemia.
