Sir Chikwe Udensi, a former Board of Trustees member of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and governorship aspirant of the party in the 2023 election has said his stay in the party is uncertain and would only be determined by what the future holds.
According to Sir Udensi an Interpol Systems Consultant, if APGA which he said is bedeviled with fraudsters and people of questionable character remains in the hands of the wrong persons, he would take his exit from the party.
Featuring on AIT’s interview programme, Focus Nigeria on Thursday, monitored by ABN TV, Sir Udensi when asked if he would not remain and fix the problems of the party said this would only happen if there is a paradigm shift to allow real owners of the party and those with its interest at heart be at the helm of affairs.
He insists that Chief Edozie Njoku has been certified as the authentic national chairman of the party as against Victor Oye who parades himself as the party leader.
He said other political parties have been in talks with him, demonstrating their readiness to welcome him without mentioning the parties.
“I’m not inconsequential, I’m not a no-factor, I remain a leader in my state and a sizeable factor in Abia politics. So it will not be out of place for any of the political parties to look for me, of course they are.
“But I have not made up my mind in that direction, when I do, I will make it public. It would not be a matter for one or two back yard arrangement, it would be a national issue if I’m joining any political party”, he stated.
On security in South East, he stated that only political solution would douse the tension in the region.
Beyond the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Udensi stated that the South East region has been discriminated and humiliated in the scheme of affairs in Nigeria.
He insists that until the region gets fair treatment from the running of affairs of the country, the tension there may continue to escalate.
