Rival cult groups clashed in Sapele, Delta State, on Thursday night, and one person was reportedly shot dead.
As of the time of writing, the specifics of the clash are unknown.
The indigenes and residents of the town, however, are now living in fear, according to reports, because of the town’s ongoing cult killings.
When contacted for confirmation of the report on Friday morning, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe said, “I will find out please.”
In other news, the Magistrate, Mrs. Ejiro Kubeinje, of the Ikeja magistrates’ court has ordered that a 15-year-old boy should be remanded at the Federal Correctional Centre for Boys at Adigbe, Abeokuta, Ogun State pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Kubeinje did not take the plea of the accused and adjourned the case to June 28.
