Plans are ongoing for the official inauguration of the N5m educational scholarship fund, a project being spearheaded by a charity organisation, Okwun Ojah Family Foundation.
The inauguration ceremony will hold on Thursday, July 25th July 2024, at Udumeze Hall Elu Ohafia near Elu Ohafia Motor Park, while the time is 10:00am.
A release signed by Mazi Jonah Okoro, the Manager Okwun Ojah Family Foundation said the fund which is at the instance of the President and founder of the foundation, Chief Dr. Okwun Ojah is aimed at benefitting students of Ohafia extraction currently studying medicine and surgery in recognized Nigerian Universities through scholarships.
“The keynote address will be delivered by the Abia State Commissioner for Education, while the president general Elu Ohafia development union, prince Kalu Ikpemini, will be the chairman of the occasion, the chief executive officer of Blue Spring luxury Hotel Ebem Ohafia, Chief Dr. Joseph Eke Kalu will be the guest speaker.
“Special guest of honour is his Excellency, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, deputy governor of Abia State.
“Other special guests include: Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa- member representing Arochukwu/ Ohafia federal constituency, Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke – member representing Ohafia South State constituency, Abia State house of Assembly, Ohafia council of traditional rulers, Ohafia Council of Monarchs (Ndi Eze Ogo), the head of service – Ohafia Local Govt, President General, Ohafia improvement union Inc., President generals of community development unions (Ohafia), students representatives of schools and other dignitaries”, the statement reads in part.
