The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has urged the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof George Obiozor, to extend an olive branch to his opponents.
It urged him to also reach out to aggrieved members, such as Uche Okwukwu, the former General Secretary who remained suspended until his tenure elapsed, and who conducted a parallel election.
OYC, in a communiqué issued on Tuesday by the Chairman, Felix Alagbaoso; Secretary, Obiya Sabastine and six others after a meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital, pledged their support to Obiozor.
The group urged the new President-General to find roles for his opponents and aggrieved persons and consult them on key issues that will benefit Igboland.
OYC also urged former Imo governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, to support Obiozor despite his political differences with Governor Hope Uzodimma.
The group urged aggrieved individuals or groups in Igboland to sheathe their sword and work with the new Ohanaeze leadership to move Igboland and Nigeria forward.
