The Federal Capital Territory, FCT chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo has mourned the demise of the President-General of the Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Prof. George Obiozor, praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
The chapter president, Nze (Barr.) Ifeanyichukwu Obasi-Nweze (Mmuo!) in a statement on Friday also sued for peace and unity in all Igbo socio-cultural organisations.
“As we pray for the repose of his soul;we use this opportunity to pray and sue for PEACE in all Igbo Organisations as a reversal to the act of the heavenly in Genesis 11,” he said.
Barr. Obasi-Nweze while noting that the late Prof. Obiozor will be greatly missed remembered him for professing “republicANISM”
“We Nd’Igbo mourn Prof. George Obiozor – Great man who knew and professed republicANISM.
“We all mourn with the consolation and hope expressed in the books of Ecclesiastes 3:1-3 and Isaiah 57:1-2,” he added.
Prof. Obiozor a renowned diplomat and a former Nigerian ambassador to the United States died earlier in the week at the age of 80.
