Chairman of Ohafia local government area, Abia State, Dr Okoroafor Ukaiwe has announced that the LG has concluded plans to commence Ohafia Youth Summit and Skill Acquisition Project.
The project schedule to begin July 8 is part of moves to meaningfully engage youths of the local government in an attempt to fight insecurity in Ohafia.
Speaking with ABN TV on Monday at the flag off of free medical outreach by officers and men of the Nigeria Army, 14 Brigade Goodluck Jonathan Barracks Ebem Ohafia, the local government chairman said his leadership is ready to develop human capacity as well as tapping from the energy the youths wield in developing the council.
Dr. Ukiwe expressed gratitude to the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for supporting the skills acquisition summit which he said is in line with his seven point agenda as the council boss.
While expressing optimism that the summit will be successful, the council chairman called on youths of the local government to avail themselves opportunity of this summit to be meaningfully engaged.
